About

Hi, my name is Yvo van Dillen,I am a programmer and web/UI designer based in the Netherlands. I started designing and programming from a young age with basic pencil and paper drawings, sketching, painting and product design. Most of my design skills and knowledge are self taught and I only moved in to designing for digital media while doing my Multimedia Design Course at the Academy for Fine Arts (AKI) On the course I’ve learned a range of skills and software including 3Dmax, Sound design, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Cinema 4D, Flash, typography, future trends, and new media.

Background

After the academy, my life took a different turn and I started developing industrial solutions for companies as well the UI design that comes with it.
I spent a lot of my time researching programming languages such as C++/ASM but also database systems.
I also spent a lot of time researching the W3C web standards and building sites to meet all accessibility guidelines.

Present

I am employed by Oxilion as their in-house software engineer. My current role tasks me to manage the digital department whilst being heavily involved programming the site and create solutions for our clients.
I also do a lot of programming on the datacenters (VMware and RedHat RHEV).
I started at Oxilion on the 3th of may 2010 and loving the experience so far!
